RULES OF FAIR CHASE EXPLAINED AND DEFINED

To be eligible for listing in the Texas Bowhunting and Bowfishing Records System, trophies must be taken in complete compliance with the Game Laws of the State of Texas and according to the Rules of Fair Chase.  The term  `FAIR CHASE' shall not be held to include the taking of animals under the following conditions:
Helpless in water, ice or in a trap.
While confined in small areas of land by “escape- proof ” fences as on game farms, preserves, etc..  Small area of land is defined as any pasture or ranch less than 640 acres (one section) unless otherwise approved by the Texas Bowhunting & Bowfishing Records Committee.
In defiance of Game Laws, out of season or poaching.
By use of any tranquilizer, poison or firearms.
By the use of any power vehicle for herding or driving animals or herd, or to communicate with or direct a hunter on the ground.
Use of a bow or arrow to which any electronic device is attached.
By any means or methods considered being unsportsman-like by the Texas Bowhunting & Bowfishing Records Committee.
SPECIAL NOTE: For the purpose of the Texas Bowhunting & Bowfishing Records and it's activities, a bow shall be defined as a long bow, recurved, or compound bow that is hand-held and hand-drawn, and that has no mechanical device built into, or attached to, that will enable the archer to lock the bow at full or partial draw. Other than energy stored by the drawn bow, no device to propel the arrow will be permitted.
Any falsification of this Fair Chase Affidavit is grounds for being dismissed from the Long Star Bowhunters Association, causing this entry to be rejected, having no future entries accepted, and having all past entries dropped from the Texas Bowhunting & Bowfishing Records list.
